Hello ! I am Keeley Robinson it is lovely to have you here I am a multidisciplinary artist based in North Wales, UK living with chronic health challenges. My art isn't just a vocation but an obsession; it's where I find my greatest happiness and a profound sense of freedom.
I make vibrant works that weave together the all-encompassing human experience, focusing on the themes wildlife, self-expression, and figurative. Through symbolic imagery—faceless figures, bright colours, swirls, flowers, textures and intricate lines—I recreate what I observe in the world while delving deep into my mind, body, and soul. Exploring memories, dreams, conversations, relationships, family , childlessness, aging, sexuality ,disability ,mental health and the societal pressures on women, I craft pieces that are both chaotic and intentional. Each mark is meticulously placed, holding deep meaning through methodical mark-making and mixed media.
Art is my sanctuary where I can truly be myself, take risks, and connect genuinely with others. Embracing vulnerability in my creations, my hopes are to inspire viewers to embrace their own true selves and express themselves creatively.
I Refuse to be confined to a single medium, instinctively working with acrylics, watercolours, printing, textiles, text and inks. My creative process is spiritual, spontaneous, and gut-driven, allowing me to capture the magic of life's nuances. Nature serves as an endless inspiration—a happy place that brings comfort and time to reflect .I am an extroverted introvert who cherishes simple joys like my pets, a nice mug, and the wind in my hair. I am a deep thinker with good empathy infusing warmth into everything I create. I am never too busy to hear your story, understanding others is at the heart of the human experience after all.
Colourful and heartfelt, my pieces invite viewers to interpret and connect with their own emotions. Despite the variety in themes and mediums, I have my own cohesive style which embodies a powerful female presence.
I am always humbled by the support of my art and the opportunity to exhibit my work. I cannot wait to see where this artistic journey will lead . I am looking forward to discovering more about myself and developing my art to ensure that my work not only evokes profound emotional responses but also offers a safe space where true authenticity is possible.
Painting wildlife is pure joy, I feel like a child rediscovering each animal I paint for the first time. I have always felt a deep connection to animals and they hold great symbolic meaning in my work and to what is happening in my life at that time. We share our lives with animals and they have taught me just as much about myself as fellow humans.
My art has always been a way of purging my emotions, like a visual diary there are some things i just cannot find the words for. My pieces are emotional releases from navigating life , understanding trauma, illness and mental health
My figurative work challenges my own and others interpretation of nudity , sexuality, gender , aging , beauty and what it means to be a 42 year old women.
